Oxytocin, Sound and Science

“Ist Musik die Nahrung der Liebe? Dieser spannenden, ganz im Sinne des diesjährigen Mottos »LIEBE« stehenden Frage spürt die aktuelle Ausgabe der Reihe »Sound & Science« nach und begibt sich auf eine interessante wissenschaftlich-musikalische Spurensuche. Dabei steht das sogenannte »Kuschelhormon« Oxytocin, das u. a. durch Umarmungen und Küsse freigesetzt wird, im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtungen. Dieses ist ein wahrer Alleskönner mit der Fähigkeit, das Immunsystem zu stärken sowie Stress, Angst und sogar Schmerzen zu reduzieren. Aufgrund seiner vielfältigen positiven Auswirkungen auf den Körper wird Oxytocin bisweilen gar als »Wunderhormon« bezeichnet. Wie und ob der Körper beim gemeinsamen Musizieren und Musikhören nun genau das Liebeshormon ausschüttet, soll an diesem Abend live erforscht werden.”
